(1) A physician assistant licensed in this state, licensed or authorized to practice in another state, territory, or possession of the United States, or credentialed as a physician assistant by a federal employer who provides medical care in response to an emergency or a federal, state, or local disaster may provide that care either without supervision as required by this chapter or with whatever supervision is available. The provision of care allowed by this subsection is limited to the duration of the emergency or disaster. (2) A physician who supervises a physician assistant providing medical care in response to an emergency or disaster as described in subsection (1) need not comply with the requirements of this chapter applicable to supervising physicians.
