Powers, Duties, Rights, Privileges, and Immunities: Volunteer Firefighter and Law Enforcement Officer Providing Aid in Another Jurisdiction
A member of the Civilian Volunteer Police Reserve, who provides their assistance as a police or firefighter, will have the same duties, rights, privileges, and immunities as an employed police or firefighter. This includes a right to workers' compensation.
Whenever either the police or fire units of the Civilian Volunteer Police Reserve, and the members thereof are rendering assistance to the police or fireman, as the case may be, such volunteers shall have the same powers, duties, rights (including coverage under the Worker's Compensation Act), privileges and immunities, as if they were paid, full-time members of the Guam Police Department, except that they shall earn recruitment credit for services performed as volunteers.
