Liability: Law Enforcement Officer During Emergency
A law enforcement officer, who, in accordance with their training and official powers, provides first aid to others during an emergency situation, will not be held legally responsible for acting or failing to act.
Police to apply first aid in emergency situation
(b) A police officer who is certified by the Council to apply first aid to patients during emergency situations shall not be personally liable for any of his attention provided to a patient; provided, however, he may be personally liable for all acts committed in excess of his official powers and for any departure from the lawful provisions of any process in his or her hands.
